Summary: A unique plate design spawns patent-pending methods to attach the window regulator rail and inside handle assembly while integrating water management features and providing for an armrest-support structure to handle the weight of the entire door for models requiring lift off. Twist lock & locator features enable assembly flexibility for the regulator drive and lift motors, while 2 integrated knock-outs allow glass access for serviceability.
   
Most Innovative Feature: Method to attach a window regulator rail to the plate (patent pending). The two integrated mounting pads allow the regulator rail to self locate via conical locaters. This enables forces to be transferred to the module structure versus being applied directly to the attachment fasteners. This eliminates mounting brackets/studs, additional assembly processing, and permits a less costly fastener to be used for rail retention to the plate.
   
Other Innovative Features: Method to carry an inside handle assembly while allowing some fore/aft adjustment for trim opening alignment (patent pending), integrated water management features, arm rest support structure to handle the weight of the entire door (lift-off doors for Jeep), twist lock feature to assemble W/R drive unit onto the plate, locaters to enable the window lift motors to be assembled while the plate is vertical, integrated bumper supports (glass slap during slam conditions), added crush rib to prevent overtorqued fasteners from affecting sealing function of the foam in place gasket around the periphery. 2 integrated knock-outs to access the glass attachments for service are created by thin membranes. This allows parts to be servicable without added content which increases cost for every part.
