Summary: The first-ever structural window frame that is visible from the exterior and the interior of the vehicle is achieved by ultrasonically welding fabric to the window frame & insert molding metal support arms. “Lightweighting” the door enables easy consumer removal for a full vehicle open-air experience. Over 4% weight savings and 8% cost savings were realized.

Other Innovative Features: Fabric is ultrasonically welded to window frame, metal support arms are insert molded. Due to the light weight nature of the door design, the door is able to be removed by the consumer should they want a full vehicle open air experience.
